Dental cavities  is defined as teeth decay characterized by tooth pain and visible holes in the teeth. It is one of the most common problem in the children and young adults causing dentist consultation ,although it can affect any age.

What causes the Dental Cavities?

When food containing carbohydrate like sugars and starches are left on teeth after eating and not brushing tooth, bacteria in the mouth convert this carbohydrate into acid. This acid dissolves enamel of the teeth resulting in holes in the teeth which is known as cavity or caries.

  • Root canal treatment and filling: Deep cavities already involve nerve and have pain
  • Root canal treatment, filling and crowing: Decay is extensive need large feeling
  • Pain killer and antibiotics is needed in cavity is infected by bacteria

How is Dental cavities prevented?

  • Oral hygiene is required to prevent cavities
  • Brush teeth after eating or at least two times a day
  • Flush your mouth after eating chocolates or sweet things
  • Use fluoride toothpaste (Every tooth paste have fluoride)
  • Regular dental checkups at least once in a year
